comments for the day

- it's babygurl janie's 21st!!! hayyyyy

- i'd hate to pass the blame, but i'm pretty sure that lucy is the reason my room smells.

- this girl in one of my classes last week said that i looked like i was from the 1983 movie "flashdance." i'm not sure she meant it as a compliment...

- i have total respect for paul simon, but i feel it's kind of rude that he went on and recorded solo versions of s&g originals. how dare he! the s is never complete without its g.

- i've had to put away my christmas tree sweater because it's getting to be the time when it's actually appropriate to wear it. it will re-emerge after the holiday. i will miss you.

interesting that you feel you can't wear that sweater during the holidays. do you need to rebel against the system that much? is it only cool when it's not cool, etc.? i think it's pretty swanky myself, and if nothing else it would be a conversation starter with all those sexy boys that come out of the woodwork to swoop young ladies during the winter break.

also, unfortunately i think s and g had emotional issues that we will never totally understand. their music is just so...sad...and not that that is necessarily a bad thing...but if they both were sad people then maybe it just got to be too much. i think that happens with a lot of really emotionally intense artists.

also, in defense of mister S. he wrote basically all of their songs. b o t w, cecilia, the boxer, america, etc. etc. etc. which in my opinion gives him the right to do whatever he likes with them. it's sad, because i think their personal relationship was so tangled up in their professional relationship that things got ugly. but they were, after all, pauly boy's songs. let me know what you think.

i had no idea about their intense quarrels. that is sad.

and WHAT sexy boys are you referring to that are supposedly coming out of the woodwork over winter break? i'll believe it when i see it. and i doubt they'd appreciate the christmas sweater.

you're right, that sweater is much too dandy to wear to the Ugly Sweater Party of which you are partaking in tomorrow. sooo get an ugly one with us at salvation army before the festivities begin.

noo that isn't the sweater, although it was purchased on the same outing. i feel i could wear half of my wardrobe to an ugly sweater party. maybe i'll just layer all of them. ugly is the new beautiful, right?
